August 1st , one of the hottest days of the year, has a special meaning for us Iranians and we celebrated this day.
Mordad is the hottest month of the year in the ancient Iranian calendar. "Cheleh Bozorg" is one of the Iranian celebrations that is forgotten today, but in the south of Khorasan, the longest day of the year is still celebrated. Chele Tamooz started around the first of July and continued until the 10th of August. These forty days usually begin with the longest day of the year.
