Happy Azargan Day

 Iran is a magnificent treasure of art and culture and the origin of festivities and joyous ceremonies in honor of all the values of life. These festivals are compatible with the natural calendar and are inextricably linked with seasonal and climate changes. In general, the ancient Iranian festivals in this land of rich civilization, are categorized in three groups: seasonal, annual, and monthly.  Monthly Zoroastrian festivals for all 12 months of the year are held to promote the three famous attributes of good words, good deeds, and good thoughts. 

The synonym for Azar meaning fire in Persian and In Iranian culture, fire is a sacred element of the world because it’s the source of life by bringing warmth and light.  Azargan is celebrated on the 9th day of Azar and people pray to God to purify them.

Boroonerdi House in Kashan

 Borojjerdi House, is a late 19th mansion built between 1859-1877 for a carpet merchant to impress his future father-in-law. It contains very impressive art works, delightful wall paintings, colorful tiles and decorative arches.The house is famous for its unusual wind towers, which are made of stone and sun-baked bricks. The house comprises one external and two internal, private courtyards which was decorated by Iran's foremost painter of the time, Kamal al-Molk.

Iran Bastan Museum


 National museum of Iran is located in Tehran and comprises of two Buildings: pre-Islam and post-Islam eras. 

The first building, Iran Bastan Museum, meaning Ancient Iran Museum, houses pre-Islam era’s objects and was built in 1937.

The objects selected for this large museum, are mostly selected out of excavation or from prominent collections. The number of objects displayed in Ancient Iran Museum exceeds 600 items discovered from prehistoric areas like Tappeh Sarab of Kermanshah Province, Susa of Khuzestan Province and Sialk Tappeh of Kashan city.
