Dolat abad Garden in Yazd

The city of Yazd became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017, and this provides a strong incentive to preserve some of its historical architecture. To survive the 40C summer heat of Yazd, a desert city in the heart of Iran, Yazd architects designed wind catchers. In their simplest form, wind catchers harness the cool breezes and redirect them downwards into the home. The wind-catcher is usually made in the summer-sitting part of the house which can reduce indoor temperatures by around 10 degrees. They also relate with the moisturizing elements such pond and garden. Alex, our guest from Swiss visited the tallest existing wind catcher in Iran in Dolat Abad Garden, a fantastic Persian garden inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Boroojerdi House in Kashan

We all know that Shiraz and Isfahan are the most popular destinations in Iran but there is so much more to see than these two Iranian giants. Labyrinth of narrow alleys, magnificent architecture, tasty traditional dishes and cheerful people – all of that is what makes Kashan so special and worthy of visiting. No matter how many palaces and monuments you have seen of Iran, the Boroojerdi house in Kashan will still take your breath away. Our African guests went sightseeing in this old city, while they were exploring Iran.

Iran's Deserts

The opportunity to trek to a desert, for most people, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It’s hard to describe the feeling of approaching a desert to someone who has never seen one before. A sea of golden waves that appears to have no beginning and no end. With little cloud cover and no pollution in sight, you’ll have unedited views of the night sky. An environment that you never tire of photographing where you can make very dramatic and beautiful landscapes. What could be better than these? Our Dutch guests had a taste for adventure and they were looking for something a bit different. And Leila, the tour guide, went with them to Isfahan desert to appeal their taste.
