Karimkhan citadel in Shiraz

Many people each year pour into Shiraz to see the architectural wonder that was created by the 18th-century Zandiye emperor, Karimkhan. The design of Karimkhan Citadel combines military and residential architecture, for it was the home of Karim Khan and the military center of the dynasty.  Walking inside, introduces a typical design of the Persian garden that interweaves different fields of knowledge such as water management, architecture, and agriculture.  Showcasing aspects of Zand dynasty of Iran, the citadel has been turned into museum by The Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Organization.

Vank Cathedral

Isfahan is undoubtedly a city of architectural masterpieces, history, culture and numerous activities. By far one of the most popular landmarks in Isfahan, is Vank Cathedral.  It’s one of the only buildings that have a foot both in the past and the present.  For a first time traveler to Iran, or even a repeat visitor, it’s definitely worth a making a visit, though it took a second trip for you to realize.
