Takht-e-Suleiman in Iran

collection of Takht-e-Suleiman is located in West Azerbaijan province, 45 kilometers northeast of Takab with an area of 12.5 hectares and is noted as one of the historical sites of Iran.  Takht-e-Suleiman which was once known as Shiz, is the same famous city which is the birthplace of Zoroaster according to the ancient writings. In terms of human settlements, the antiquity of Takht-e- Suleiman dates back to three thousand years ago. It is one of the most important monuments of the country registered as the fourth of Iran's monument in the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.

Now in Takht-e- Suleiman monuments from the early Sassanid to the Mongol periods are identified, but since the date of this site goes back to the Achaemenid and Parthian dynasties, undoubtedly in case the excavations are continued, important works  related to pre-Sassanid period would  be discovered. The spring of Takht-e-Suleiman began to boil thousands of years ago and gradually glaze effects of the compounds in water, and sediments covered the outer edges. This trend continued for thousands of years and caused the water to create a vase shape in its surrounding. Jame Mosque of Yazd

 

The Grand Jame Mosque of Yazd dating back to 12th century, is regarded as one of the outstanding building. It is believed that the mosque was built on the ruins of the Sassanid fire temple and was largely rebuilt in 14th century. The two most outstanding features of this Islamic mosque are its domes and minarets. It is famous for its notable minaret’s architecture and their turquoise gem that could be seen from miles away. With the special tiles works and various domes, this mosque is an excellent example of Islamic architecture. Under the central dome inside the mosque, there are some smaller dome like arches designed with dazzling ceramic tiles and the beautiful manuscripts from holy Quran which depict the masterpieces of calligraphy and tiling.

 

 

The Underground City of Ouyi (Nushabad):

 

Underground cities are dense, complex and wide structures identical to narrow corridors and have rooms in small dimensions.

The underground city of Nushabad in Kashan, Isfahan province, is three-story. The first floor is built at a depth of three meters and the third floor is at a depth of 16 meters.All spaces are created by delicate and subtle digging in the underground and include corridors with a height of 180 cm and in some parts to 90 cm with different widths and rooms with different sizes can be seen on both sides.  The end of each corridor leads to another. The floors of this city are linked by vertical and horizontal channels. In addition to these channels, there are large rocks identical to that of the grinding mills. When taking shelter in the lower floors, the opening of the channel were closed with these rocks.

3. Forget about renting a car

 

Traffic in major cities of Iran is considerable, and Iranians’ driving style can be quite adventurous, so rent a car only if you feel confident and have an international driver’s license.

4. Put your international bank cards at home

The tourists who travel to Iran cannot use, major credit cards like Visa and Master Card or to withdraw any cash from ATM machines in the country. So the travelers must bring only cash for their entire stay. Also, it is easily possible to get a type of Iranian debit card (prepaid) which can be used all around the country.

5. Stick to the Iranian dress codes

A modest dress code is all what you need to consider for clothing in Iran. For women, a pair of lose pants or skirt, a long sleeve shirt and a head scarf is perfect. For men, generally, shorts and ties are not worn in public. A pair of lose pants or jeans with T-shirt is recommended.
