Wind-catchers are seen on the roof of the old houses in Bushehr, Bandar Abbas, Yazd, Abarkooh, Kerman, Kashan and Tabas. These small towers are constructed on the roofs to transfer the wind into the building. As a result, the house is cooled and freshened by the wind passed over a small pool, located right below the wind catcher, in the summer rooms of the house.
