Iran is home to many beguiling natural attractions, but its
extraordinary pink lake has got to be seen to be believed. Less than a one-hour
drive from Shiraz, Lake Maharloo is not only one of Iran’s most accessible
lakes but also one of its most photogenic. Its eye-catching view draw amateur
and professional photographers alike, moving between hues of pink, white and
blue depending on the salinity of the water. For a few years they used to
extract salt from the lake but nowadays it is only used for tourism purposes.
The water of the lake is otherwise clear and it causes no harm to the human.

It's almost like this photo was deliberately taken for
Instagram photos, but Maharloo's pink lake is all natural and has turned rosy
again. Although this salt lake already has lots of salt, it only turns pink
when salt levels are higher than usual. There are also a few other factors such
as high temperatures, lots of sunlight and a lack of rainfall required to turn
