commemoration of Omar Khayyam

May 17 is dedicated to the commemoration of Omar Khayyam in the Iranian solar calendar; the calendar which Khayyam has invented himself. 
Omar Khayyam was a Persian philosopher, mathematician, astronomer, and poet of 12th century BC. Khayyam is recognized worldwide as one of the most revered Persian poets, best-known for his collection of quatrains.There are several translations of Khayyam's quatrains available in various languages including English, German, Dutch, French, Italian, Danish and Arabic. 
He passed away in Neiyshapur and buried in the city where his mausoleum is a masterpiece of Islamic-Iranian architecture and it is visited by many people every year.

Nezami Ganjavi, a giant Persian Poet

Persian literature is a unique spiritual treasure-house for its people and there is no doubt that Nizami Ganjavi is one of the greatest representatives of this literary heritage. Nizami Ganjavi is a 12th-century Persian Muslim poet. He is considered the greatest romantic epic poet in Persian literature, who brought a colloquial and realistic style to the Persian epic. His heritage is widely appreciated and shared by Iran Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran and Tajikistan.
Although he is a well-known Persian poet, his tomb is located roughly 7 km north of Ganja, one of Azerbaijan’s most important religious sites.
Organizations both in Iran and abroad commemorate the birth anniversary of this great Iranian poet on today.

12th October, the Commemoration Day of Hafez as the Honored Personage of Persian Poetry


Needless to say, Persian literature is a key component of rich history and ancient culture of Iran. Omer Khayyam, Sa’adi, Mowlavi, Nezamy, and Hafez are among the influential figures of Persian’ poets. Hafez as one of the greatest composer of lyric poetry, is a well-known poet for all of Iranian. You can walk the streets of Shiraz and feel the atmosphere that served as the inspiration for much of Hafez poetry. Many people believe his poetry in such an extent that they augur with it and ask him for help in their affairs and works. To them the poetry of Hafez is a form of meditation on divine perfection. Serious attempts to introduce the Persian poet to the West took place in Germany by Goethe, a devotee of Hafez. Every year on 12th October, a commemoration is held to venerate Hafez as the honored personage of Persian poetry. Saadi Tomb in Shiraz


8 centuries ago, in the beautiful city of Shiraz, a genius was born who became known as the Master of Speech and Persian poetry. As the result for decades of traveling and exploring, Saadi created two literature masterpieces, “Golestan” and “Boustan”. Gulistan is one of two major works of the Persian poet Sa’adi in prose, and it is said to be one of the most widely read books ever produced. Hafez Tomb in Shiraz
