Not too far from Isfahan is the gorgeous town of Kashan. This historic town is a great little spot where is crammed with historical houses. One of these famous historical houses which was built by the affluent Tabatabaei family is Tabatabaei House. The House like other historical monuments of that time has luxurious decorations, originality of architecture and the appropriate design for the culture and climate of that particular region. Rose water distillation in Iran

Iranian calendar, each late April to early May is the time to celebrate the traditional Iranian festival of Golab Giri.  This festival shows the traditional process of producing rosewater which has been held for over thousand years ago in Kashan, Iran. The harvesting of the «Rosaceous flower», the specific type of Iranian rose from which the water is extracted, dates back to the 7th millennium BCE. These light pink roses called Mohammadi flower named after Muslim prophet, Mohammad (PBUH). Here's the reason its water, golab, is known as the holy perfume. Spread over 5,000 square meters, this famous historical house was built by the affluent Tabatabaei family with luxurious decorations, originality of architecture and the appropriate design of climatic conditions of the region. As a masterpiece of Iranian residential mansions, the impressive building consists four beautiful courtyards, delightful wall paintings with elegant stained glass windows. This house has got its name from the merchant who had initially started the construction of this residential building. This house consists three interiors, 40 rooms, 4 courtyards, 4 basements, 3 ventilations and 2 aqueducts.
