The Iranian beverage “doogh” has received the global Codex
Alimentarius set of standards. In addition to promoting this as a global
product, this is a national honor for Iran as a cultural heritage in the food
sector. No drink is more identifiable with Iran than Doogh. The traditional
ingredients in Doogh include yoghurt and water. Initially, this was a byproduct
of butter in Iran. Salt and sometimes pepper is added, and commonly dried mint
or pennyroyal is mixed in as well. Get a jug of doogh with a meal while having Iranian
cuisine in a cultural and traditional atmosphere.
