Masoule Village

Iran is home to some of magnificent cities, but the country’s true charm lies in the countryside.

Masuleh is a homogenous stepped village of stacked mud-brick homes in northern Iran. The village offers its visitors a bizarre scene of architecture; each house is built on another’s rooftop, most of which having porch-balconies and earthen roofs.
