Obligation Ceremony, known as Jashn-e Taklif in Iran

The best way to appreciate and truly experience a new place is to immerse oneself in its culture. Festivals and rituals are the main showcases to observe a community’s culture. Obligation Ceremony, known as Jashn-e Taklif in Iran, can be one of the important rites of passage in Iran. In this ceremony students celebrate their transition from a child to a mature being, meaning that they are at responsible age and have to perform religious duties in Islam such as wearing Hijab, saying prayers and fasting. Livia, our Australian guest, was lucky enough to drop into this annual ritual in Shahe chreagh holy Shrine, while she was visiting Shiraz.

  1. In turn you also want to ensure your guests can sit comfortably without being crammed into a small venue, or even worse, being left to feel as if they're shoved in at the back, and can barely see the top table.
