Marvelous Hengam Island

This truncated cone-shaped island off the southern coast of Qeshm is surrounded by impressive soft-coral reefs that offer great diving. This calcareous and generally low-lying island is also known for its wildlife, including birds, gazelles and dolphins. The main sights of Hengam are the English harbor buildings along with the coal storage, the Portuguese shipwrecks, and aquatic animals such as turtles, dolphins, corals, and sharks. The main economic activity of Hengam friendly people is fishing. Sand-covered coasts of the Island is a good place where visitors can rest and enjoy eating seafood in simple eateries.

Qeshm, which is the biggest island in the Persian Gulf in the south of Iran, is a fabulous destination during autumn and winter. The weather is mild and pleasant and the natural attractions, like mangrove forest, the Salt cave and the stars valley are fabulous. Qeshm Island is also habitat for many animals like the giant turtles, different types of birds and marine creatures, like jellyfish and coral reef.
