Marvelous Hengam Island

Islands are one of the most stunning attractions in the planet sand where you can relax under rustling palms and gaze at a serene blue sea. The exotic islands offer an exceptional opportunity to get away from daily routine and immerse yourself in a mixture of nature, wildlife, history and culture. The Persian Gulf, surround southern Iran and needless to say that, give a special beauty to our country. There are four smaller islands near Qeshm Island adjacent to the Strait of Hormuz, which are called Hengam, Larak, Hormuz and Naz. We want to take you on a boat and pass through the waters of the Persian Gulf to represent Hengam Island, one of the most spectacular islands in our country. This truncated cone-shaped island off the southern coast of Qeshm is surrounded by impressive soft-coral reefs that offer great diving. This calcareous and generally low-lying island is also known for its wildlife, including birds, gazelles and dolphins. The main sights of Hengam are the English harbor buildings along with the coal storage, the Portuguese shipwrecks, and aquatic animals such as turtles, dolphins, corals, and sharks. The main economic activity of Hengam friendly people is fishing. Sand-covered coasts of the Island is a good place where visitors can rest and enjoy eating seafood in simple eateries.

Hormoz is land of colors!

Hormoz is a small island in the Persian Gulf (south of Iran) with an area of 42 kilometers squares, which has been an important military spot during Safavid era and Portuguese soldiers occupied this island and built a castle in it which is still available. Shah Abbas, the Safavid king, rescued Hormoz Island in 1621. The dwellers live in a village at the center of the island.

Hormoz is madly colorful! The mountains are made up of soil in different color layers and the women wear nice colorful cloths and they cover their faces with a burqa. The mountains, the weird shaped hills and the unlimited landscape of the Persian Gulf have made this island a great destination, especially among young artists. They usually make backpacking trips to Hormoz Island and experience a simple lifestyle for some days. This is the place for long walks on the seashore, swimming, drawing and painting, collecting weird stones, enjoying photography and doing yoga while all you hear is the sound of waves.
