World Tourism Day is observed every year on 27 September. The purpose of celebrating this day is to make people aware of tourism around the world. The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) keeps the theme of World Tourism Day different every year to make people aware. This time the theme of World Tourism Day is "Tourism and jobs: a better future for all". This Day is considered a big landmark for Global Tourism and to make them aware of the significant role of Tourism. Happy International Tourist Guide Day!

February 21st is International Tourist Guide Day. A tourist guide is an important member of the tourism industry who plays a key role in how a tour is operated.

As an initiative of WFTGA (World Federation of Tourist Association), International Tourist Guide Day is held every year since 1990 when only 15 countries participated. Today an ever growing number of countries are celebrating this day every year, whether locally or internationally. Besides the educational events and celebrations held for the tourist guides on this day, some solutions are also presented regarding operating tours for disabled persons, disadvantaged persons, children and etc., so that anyone in the world can enjoy traveling.

27 September is World Tourism Day!

World Tourism Day (WTD) has been celebrated by United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) every year on September 27^th since 1980 to foster international awareness about the importance of tourism and its positive impact on culture, politic and economy. This date was chosen to coincide with the anniversary of the adoption of UNWTO statutes on 1970.

World tourism day theme for 2016 is: “Tourism for All – promoting universal accessibility”, which means providing accessible tourism for all of the people including disabled people even temporary, families with small children and old population.

UNWTO forecasts a 3.5 % to 4.5% growth in international tourist arrival in 2016 and predicts that tourist arrivals will reach 1.8 billion by 2030!
