Millennium after Shahnameh's Composition

Registering  the ceremony for the first Millennium after Shahnameh's composition in the list of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List has long been followed in the country's cultural and research circles. This ceremony is an occasion that was proposed by the Ferdowsi Foundation to be celebrated on its 1,000th anniversary of composition. 
Shahnameh, an epic masterpiece of Persian language, is the work of Hakim Abolqasem Ferdowsi, one of the world's greatest poets. The Shahnameh is a description of the Iranian conquests, victories, defeats and failures from the earliest times to the overthrow of the Sassanid dynasty.

Nomadism in Iran

The Iranian traditional life is based upon breeding of five animals: yaks, sheep, goats, camels, and horses. The products these animals give satisfy almost all the needs of the family: beef, mutton and goat's meat are an important part of the Mongolian diet; the sheep's wool is transformed in felt and used to make clothes, bedding, and insulating of yurts; horses, camels and yaks are used for transport; and even the hair and bones are used to make music instruments and toys

The Nomadic traditional costume consists of a deel, a hat, boots, and accessories. There are differences between the costumes of the various ethnic groups, but all the deels have the same shape: long sleeves, a wide flap that gets folded up on the chest.

Because Nomadic culture is based on livestock farming, the Nomqdic traditional diet consists of food that comes from the five domestic animals: cow, goat and sheep.

Nomadic people usually eat a three full meals per day. During the day, they drink great quantity of tea with milk, sometimes mixed with rice, flour, meat, or with small cakes. The dinner includes meat, traditionally boiled, and often served with rice.

El-Goli also known as Shah Guli is the name of a large park in Tabriz, where has been the campus of former Qajar Dynasty's Crown Princes. It has an artificial lake surrounded by side walk in four sides. There is also a building in the middle of the lake, with traditional architecture of Tabriz. In South of the lake there is a hill covered by trees. Two beautiful stairways connecting the side walks to the top of the hill. At top of the hill there is a hotel building with modern architecture.
This garden gives you the opportunity to meet locals and breath fresh air while enjoying the green atmosphere around. If you are lucky you may see boat riders who circle around the pool with a drummer whose music takes you to the ancient times!

Nezami Ganjavi, a giant Persian Poet

Persian literature is a unique spiritual treasure-house for its people and there is no doubt that Nizami Ganjavi is one of the greatest representatives of this literary heritage. Nizami Ganjavi is a 12th-century Persian Muslim poet. He is considered the greatest romantic epic poet in Persian literature, who brought a colloquial and realistic style to the Persian epic. His heritage is widely appreciated and shared by Iran Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran and Tajikistan.
Although he is a well-known Persian poet, his tomb is located roughly 7 km north of Ganja, one of Azerbaijan’s most important religious sites.
Organizations both in Iran and abroad commemorate the birth anniversary of this great Iranian poet on today.

Tea plays an important role in Iranian lives. A great deal of the population admires this drink. When asked to describe a hot summer day, a cold winter day, a visit to family or friends, a quick way to relax and especially a full breakfast, tea will be part of it. This national drink is served black in tulip-shaped glasses and sweetened with sugar according to the drinker’s preference or it is served with date or cookies.
