Where to get a SIM card in Iran

One of the questions often asked when travelling to Iran is how to connect to internet or make internal calls with the most reasonable price and to avoid roaming costs. Well the best answer is buying a SIM card in Iran. Iran has 3 phone network providers; IR-MCI, MTN Irancell and Rightel, all provide good services. However, Irancell is easier to register and cheaper. There are offices at major international airports and in many cities that sell prepaid SIM cards. By getting a 3G or 4G SIM, you can connect to internet as well. Network coverage is plausible in all of the cities. To use a SIM card, first you should have an unlocked phone, then you need to register your SIM card, this you can do at the customer service centers. In order to register, you will need to complete the registration form, also you should have your passport with you. After that you should put credit in the SIM card which is easy by using recharge cards found all over the country; you can buy them at newspaper kiosks or even grocery stores. With the credit you have now, you can call, text or surf the Internet.
