The long-standing Agha Bozorg Mosque of Kashan, built during Qajar dynasty
is one of the most fabulous architectural masterpieces in Iran and is known as
the bride of Persian mosques. This monument is built by “Haj Shaban”, the great
Iranian architect to be used as both a holy place for saying prayers and
theological school.
This two-story monument has a big brick dome, two beautiful wind catchers,
glorious chambers and rooms for students to study theological lessons. The small pond at the center of the courtyard surrounded by four small
gardens are the special features of Agha Bozorg Mosque and different types of
architectural ornaments, like brickworks turquoise tile works and etc., which
are known as inseparable mates of Persian monuments, play a wonderful show in
this architectural masterpiece.
